Irish eyes are smiling

Paddy was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an important meeting and couldn’t find a parking place. Looking up to heaven he said, “Lord take pity on me. If you find me a parking place I will go to Mass every Sunday for the rest of me life and give up me Irish Whiskey!”

Miraculously, a parking place appeared.

Paddy looked up again and said, “Never mind, I found one.”

Reminds me of a joke my Irish Father in Law tells. . . .

An American tourist was riding in a taxi in down town New York. The Cab driver was an Irishman named Patty.

    As the
taxi approached a red light, the tourist was shocked to see
the Patty drive straight through without even slowing down.

Surprised as he was, he didn’t say anything feeling himself
a “guest” and not wanting to make waves. The trip continued
without event until the next intersection. This time the
light was green and, to the American’s dismay, Patty the cab driver
brought the vehicle to a grinding halt. Unable to contain
his astonishment, he turns to the driver:

“Listen”, he says, “when you went through the red light, I
didn’t say anything. But, why, in heaven’s name, are you
    stopping at a green light?!”

The Irish driver looks at him as if the American was deranged:

“Are you crazy?!”, he shouts. “there might be another Irish cab driver coming the other way — do you wanto get us killed?!”
