I’m chopstick challenged
I think I ought to make a set of these. More or less embarrassing than using a fork?

It’s not all about us
“The most important scientific revolutions all include, as their only common feature, the dethronement of human arrogance from one pedestal after another of previous convictions about our centrality in the cosmos.”

The doctor is in
I’d like to recommend a site from my blogroll. Traveling Medicine Show chronicles the travels and experiences of Dr. Nostrum and Hatbox Louie. It’s well-written, witty, and interesting. I don’t mean interesting in the banal sense; I mean amusing, informative, clever, eclectic, and so on. I stumbled upon it some time ago via the “next blog” arrow in WordPress, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
So here’s my advice: pay the doctor a visit, slip into a paper gown, and amuse yourself in the archives while you wait to be seen. You don’t need an appointment, and you’re sure to feel better.

Know-it-alls
There are two very interesting articles on Reuters today that proved an enjoyable reminder that we (contemporary human society):
a) aren’t the only ‘intelligent’ life on Earth
b) didn’t develop advanced thinking in just the last century, and
c) haven’t even come close to unravelling every mystery
Humpback whales have “human” brain cells
Ancient calculator was 1,000 yrs ahead of its time
Humility: it’s refreshing!
