i love this painting and his other work. my therapist’s office has a huge book on him, i’d never taken notice of it before then. monet has always been my favorite.

wyeth captures the 20th american landscape just as c.d.friedrich did with the baltics in the 18th century europe.i do love this two guys.they take keen with nature humanity and spiritualism.

Andrew Wyeth died today. After hearing the NPR report I did the google image search and stumbled here. What I did not know is that Christina had polio and was actually crawling back to her home. Looking at her legs, the painting takes on a poignant tone I had not seen before.
